Hannah Kimmins
Bio
Hi, I'm Hannah, and I am currently studying for an MSc in Psychology at Edge Hill University.

I am a research intern for the department, in their study of ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) and its effect on the sensory systems in the brain.

I'm interested in the depths of human multisensory perception, and the neuro-scientific analysis of philosophical concepts.
My own research focuses will be: neuroplasticity, perceptual differences, and understanding dementia to improve care.

I am also a writer of fiction and poetry, and would like to continue this as another branch of my career.
Education
My journey to Psychology has been slightly different. I completed a degree in English Literature and Philosophy (Hons) at the University of Liverpool in 2018.

I graduated with an MA in English from Edge Hill University in 2021. My dissertation focused on the connection between young women in YA fiction and bodies of water, particularly in regards to their attempted emancipation from patriarchal society.

I will be graduating from my MSc Psychology course at Edge Hill University in 2025.

My goal is to pursue a PhD in Psychology and combine my Literature, Philosophy, and Psychology knowledge to create and provide an interdisciplinary teaching model for university students of the future.
